Orphan fawns often become pets since they need milk for at least the first four months of life. They make surprisingly good pets. They don’t wet until after they are fed their milk giving you time to take them outside.
We have tamed fawns for people but there is often a local permit needed to have one as a pet.

Breeding and raising Fallow Deer adds a beauty and grace to life.

These deer make excellent weed control devices. Their ability to control weeds and shrubs is far exceptional to goats, etc. These deer are a pleasure to watch and enjoy. They can be reared to be hand fed apples, etc.

The bucks will average about 140 pounds,as adults, with the does averaging about 100 pounds. The bucks acquire
exceptionally large antlers "racks" for a deer their size.

Species and numbers of farmed deer vary from province to province. Wapiti, red deer and fallow deer are currently considered most adaptable to farming in the Canadian environment. Deer are farmed principally for the sale of live animals, venison (meat) and velvet antler.
